50% of foster youth become homeless within one year of emancipation

40-80% of foster youth are diagnosed with severe mental health problems.
50% of young women in foster care become pregnant before the age of 19.

California
65,000 children are in the CA foster system.
Nationally, 46% of children are in foster family placements, compared with only 38% in CA.
14% of CA Foster Youth between the ages of 11-17 are placed in group homes.
